November 6, 2017 – Balabit, a leading provider of Privileged Access Management and Log Management solutions, today announced a distributor agreement with Onistec, a Value-Added Solution Provider, to help streamline the company’s efforts to expand at the Latin American market helping secure privileged accounts from misuse at organizations in this market.

Fraud or theft that occurs because of privileged account misuse is one of the most challenging issues for organizations to identify and prevent. In Mexico alone, during the period of January to September of 2016, cybercrime increased 148 percent according to the latest report from the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Services Users (Condusef), and more than 3.9 million complaints were filed against banks for possible fraud. Bank Santander Mexico alone disabled 3,000 suspicious sites, preventing cybercriminals from defrauding its customers.

“Balabit’s PAM technology is the right fit for organizations with large amounts of sensitive data,” said Francisco José Odón, CEO at Onistec. “The hacking of privileged accounts and insider threats are becoming more of a security concern in our region, and organizations need solutions that help them protect their assets. By becoming a Balabit distributor, we enable our partners to offer proven solution to their customers to effectively analyze threats as they happen, stopping them in their tracks and preventing damage.”

Balabit’ s appointment of Onistec as distributor for the Latin American market aligns with its global partner strategy of appointing a Value-Added Distributor (VAD) to work with the local partners comprising System Integrators (SI) and IT Security Integrators. Together with its distributors, Balabit actively involves its partners in joint marketing campaigns, and provides leads and attractive margins. To better serve local customers, Balabit also offers ongoing sales and pre-sales support to partners alongside extensive training and certification, which is important in today’s changing information security environment.

“Onistec is the ideal partner for the continued expansion of our partner program in the Latin American region, where we have had a partner presence for several years,” said Tony He, Senior Director of Sales for the LATAM and APAC regions at Balabit. “We’re excited about Onistec’s systematic approach to bringing our PAM and Log Management solutions to new customers, focusing on the finance, telco and government sectors.”
